This Saturday (September 28th) at 11am supporters of Keep Our NHS Public will join forces with members of Cambridge People’s Assembly to protest outside Brookfields Hospital, Mill Road, Cambridge, about plans to privatise Cambridgeshire Community Services. Brookfields has wards run by CCS, which is in grave danger of being taken over by a profit-hungry private company like Virgin or Serco unless we stop them.
The protest will take place on the eve of Sunday’s national demonstration to defend the NHS at the Tory Party conference in Manchester. There are still places on the coach from Cambridge but they are going fast – don’t forget to book your place!
Finally next Tuesday, October 1st, the Clinical Commissioning Group (which is putting CCS out to tender) is meeting in Chatteris, and we have secured a spot to present our petition to them. If you are able to join the lobby of the CCG, again please contact Martin Booth on firstname.lastname@example.org. The meeting is at 2pm at Beech Conference Room – South Fens Business Centre, Fenton Way, Chatteris, PE16 6TT.
